            <description>I am writing this up as a resource for other US citizens starting jobs at EPFL.  It might be generally useful for people moving to Switzerland or Lausanne for other reasons.

EPFL has a great website for visitors.

Some books to look into: Living and Working in Switzerland, Xenophobe's Guide to the Swiss, Culture Smart! Switzerland.  The latter two books unfortunately focus much more on the Germanic part of Switzerland than the French part.</description>
